Ohio proposal would make smoking in vehicles with children a primary offense

first_imgColumbus, Oh. — If Ohio follows the policy of seven other state smoking in a car with a child could cost a lot of money.Democrat state senator Charleta Tavares from Columbus is sponsoring Senate Bill 106 that would levy a $500 fine on first offenders and up to $750 for each subsequent violation.The proposal would make the violation a primary offense.Alabama, Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Oregon, Vermont and Virginia all have similar laws.Read the full bill here.last_img
