Drew Remenda on the Sharks: ‘Erik Karlsson is a Viking God’

Ohio Ag Weather and Forecast November 26, 2018

first_imgShare Facebook Twitter Google + LinkedIn Pinterest A winter storm system is moving across the Great Lakes today. The good news is that it will miss a large majority of Ohio. In fact with this storm tracking from the Champaign IL area last night around midnight to between Toledo and Defiance OH this morning, to south of Kitchner, Ontario by mid to late afternoon, we stay in the warm sector over most of the state, leading to mostly rain. Now, in far NW Ohio, we can see accumulating snow this morning through the day. However, we likely only pick up a coating to 3 inches there, and then some snow on the southern shore of the Lake this afternoon. It could be a lot worse! Northern IL has been getting and is getting hammered. Same for lower Michigan. Liquid equivalent from the event remains nearly the same as we projected last week, at .2”-.7” over 95% of Ohio. It is interesting to note, and we need to pay attention in NW Ohio, that this is a storm that is very heavily dependent on track and distance. For example, yesterday back in western IL, only 50 miles separated a tornado warning area from a blizzard warning area! So…the closer you get to Michigan…the more you need to be on the lookout for more snow. Precipitation lingers into this evening, but should be done in most areas by midnight or so. However, Lake effect snows kick in in north central and Northeast Ohio tonight, and can continue through the day tomorrow and even into early Wednesday. We can expect some significant snow totals in NE Ohio in particular, by midweek. The rest of the state sees nothing tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday. Clouds will be around and may be tough to break at times, and we turn significantly colder than this past weekend, but we have no new precipitation. Clouds build Thursday afternoon. This will be ahead of a warm front that lifts through overnight Thursday night into Friday morning. Precipitation totals can be from .1”-.4” liquid equivalent with coverage at 70% of the state. We can see a mix of precipitation types, as warm air is surging in, but may not be here immediately at the outset of moisture Thursday night. We should see a brief push of clearing Friday afternoon.Rain is back for Saturday and Sunday, and we could see a lot of it. We look for half to 1.5” rain totals over 100% of the state. All liquid. The map at right shows the set up Saturday evening. We see clouds to start next week, and we can’t rule out flurries Monday and Tuesday on the backside of the weekend system. But temps are falling. Clouds mix with sunshine next Wednesday and Thursday. The rest of the extended 11-16 day period gets more active again. Clouds increase for Friday the 7th, and we see rain change over to snow as the day wears on. Some of that snow can be heavy into Saturday morning, but it is way to early to dive into the track of the event. Lake effect snows continue on Sunday the 9th. We see partly sunny skies over most of the state for the start of the following week on the 10th and 11th. However, lake effect snows remain over the northern third of the state those days.last_img read more

Workflow Tip: Use Bundles in FCPX To Archive Your Projects

first_imgArchiving master files of your projects is never a fun task, but using bundles in FCPX makes it a whole lot easier. For years, I had a terrible system for archiving my final cuts of commercial and personal projects. I’d typically only create one master file, which of course meant that if I ever needed that file in a different resolution or codec, I’d need to re-encode it. Not the end of the world in many cases, but in circumstances where I needed that file right away it was a bit of a pain to dig through old archival drives to find, convert, and upload it to a video hosting site.My current method of archiving has become far easier and more streamlined as a result of the bundles feature in FCPX, which effectively allows you to output multiple deliverables with a single click.Currently, most of my projects are shot in 4K, so this is how my bundle is set up to archive final 4K projects:4K Data Master (ProRes HQ)1080p Data Master (ProRes HQ)1080p Web Master (H.264)Both the 4K and 1080p Data Masters will output to my internal drive, while the 1080p web master will not only output to my hard drive, but will also automatically upload to Vimeo with a password. This means that even if a client calls me while I’m on vacation asking for a cut of an old project, I can simply pull up my Vimeo app and send them a link straight from my phone.Bundles are a very powerful way to create masters of your projects in a single click, and you obviously can and should customize your bundle to your specific work needs. Regardless of how you set it up, simply taking the time to arrange a bundle structure in Final Cut Pro X in the first place can save you hours of time down the line, searching for and converting older projects.last_img read more

Maharashtra government formation: NCP-Congress-Shiv Sena common minimum programme to strive for policy direction

first_img Need for consensusAmong the key issues to be discussed is the distribution of Cabinet and State portfolios and posts in various corporations. “The issue of who will become the Chief Minister is sorted. That post will be with the Sena. But there will be talks about appointments to corporations, the Rajya Sabha and the Legislative Council. We have to reach a broader consensus before going forward,” a senior Congress leader said. The CMP will focus on a broader strategy for the next government. “Distribution of portfolios is certainly an issue being discussed, but we have to decide on policy matters such as farm loan waiver, infrastructure projects, industrial growth and the financial condition of the State. There has to be a road map, and we will chalk out the broader picture,” the Congress leader said. The NCP MLAs held a meeting on Wednesday morning where Mr. Ajit Pawar clarified that his party and the Congress would clear certain points following which talks will be held with the Sena on the CMP.“We are not in a hurry. The Governor has given us six months time,” he said. Sena’s demands unacceptable, BJP not in favour of mid-term polls in Maharashtra: Shah A common minimum programme (CMP) being drafted by the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) combine and the Shiv Sena will discuss matters starting from distribution of Ministries to broader policy-based issues, sources say.The programme is, however, likely to skip controversial issues. “The CMP will be about policy direction and will not include every issue in the State today,” said a senior Congress leader working on the draft. The issues such as the Sena’s demand for Bharat Ratna to Veer Savarkar will not be in the CMP as it is the demand of a particular party. The NCP on Wednesday appointed a five-member committee including legislature party leader Ajit Pawar, State president Jayant Patil and Leader of the Opposition in Council Dhananjay Munde to hold discussions with the Congress and the Sena. Congress leaders, including former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and State president Balasaheb Thorat, met at the office of the former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan to identify similarities in the manifestos of the three parties and come to common points to move forward.Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray is directly monitoring the discussions along with senior party leaders. Also Readlast_img read more

President Trump expected to end program for young immigrants

Benjamin Prado, an immigration rights activist with the American Friends Service Committee in San Diego fears that “Dreamers” and their entire families will be targeted for deportation.“What we see is the way many immigration agencies do their jobs; they not only go after the individual that they’re looking for but then they start questioning the rest of the family. They start what they consider collateral arrests. That’s why it’s very important, now more than ever, that people understand clearly what their constitutional rights are and that they defend their families,” Prado said. The president of San Diego State University, Sally Roush has written a letter to the White House asking President Trump to retain the DACA program. The letter read in part,  “We urge you to give greatest weight to the fact that these individuals who arrived in this country too young to have made the decision to come here, or to have understood any consequent impact on their citizenship, have in fact excelled as students and as good citizens.”  More than 400 American business leaders, including the CEO’s of AT&T, Best Buy, Amazon, Facebook and Apple have signed a letter to President Trump calling for the DACA program to be retained. They assert that the U.S. economy could lose $460 billion and $25 billion in Social Security and Medicare tax contributions.  President Trump expected to end program for young immigrantslast_img read more
