WILMINGTON, MA — Boston Roller Derby has announced its first ever international tournament, the 2019 Lobstah Roll.Sanctioned by the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association, the tournament will take place on March 9-10 at the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road) in Wilmington.The 2019 Lobstah Roll will feature two full days of competition from across the U.S. and Ireland. BRD’s all-star team, the Boston Massacre, will be making their 2019 season debut after winning gold in the WFTDA Continental Cup East last summer. The team currently ranks as No. 34 in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association out of over 400 internationally affiliated teams.The final two March 9 bouts will be open to the public, with doors opening at 4 p.m. At 5 p.m., the Naptown Tornado Sirens of Indianapolis will take on the Capital Maulstars of Sacramento, California. At 7 p.m., the Boston Massacre will face off against the “A”- team from Dublin, Ireland. All fans will be invited to join skaters for an after-party at 9 p.m. in the Shriners Fez Room, located inside the auditorium.Tickets for Saturday, March 9 can be purchased HERE. John Nasasira61-year-old John Nasasira has continuously represented Kazo County, Kiruhura District, in the Ugandan Parliament, from 1989 until today, a span of over two (2) decades. Between 1989 and 1991, he served as Minister of State for Works. From 1991 until 1992, he served as an Adviser to the President of Uganda on Public Relations. In 1992 he was appointed Minister of State for Works, Transportation and Communications, servng in that capacity until 1994.From 1994 until 1995, Nasasira was one of the delegates to the Constituent Assembly that drew up the 1995 Uganda Constitution. He also served as Minister of State for Agriculture, during the same period. In 1995, he was appointed Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, serving there until 1996. In 1996, he was appointed Minister of Works, Housing and Communications. For ten (10) years, he served in that capacity, making him one of the longest-lasting cabinet appointments in the National Resistance Movement government. In 2006, a new Ministry of Information Communication Technology was created and John Nasasira’s portifolio became Minister of Works and Transportation.
